• Multi-flue cap mounting brackets loosen on Famco’s universal-fit line. Famco makes a solid multi-flue cap, but the mounting brackets on their universal series rely on pressure screws that back out after a few seasons of South Jersey wind. Waterford gets nor’easters that shake everything loose. We find caps sitting cockeyed on the flue tile, letting rain drive straight down the chase. The fix is remounting with stainless fasteners and, where the flue tile is chipped, a custom bracket plate before the cap goes back on.
